Car Care Tips

  • When washing your car, start with the wheels and tires, change out your wash water and continue to wash the car from the top down.
  • When washing and rinsing, break the car into smaller sections to work on. Doing so will help to eliminate soap from drying on the paint.
  • When degreasing and power washing your engine, use gallon sized “zip lock” baggies to cover the distributor cap and any electrical components to help ensure moisture from getting into these areas.
  • Cloth diapers work great when buffing wax off of the car’s surfaces.
  • After washing, use a regular garden hose to rinse the entire car again. The amount of water being applied along with the low pressure will cause the water to come off in sheets, thus reducing drying time.
  • Keep leather seats cleaned and properly conditioned to ensure they maintain their softness and suppleness.
  • To remove wax buildup in and around the car’s emblems, use a one-inch painter’s brush. Have several brushes on hand with varying lengths of bristles and firmness
  • Be cautious of what you wear to wash or clean your car. Belts, buttons, rings, watches, ECT. can easily scratch and damage painted surfaces.
  • For a streak-free finish on windows, wipe them down with coffee filters as the last step
  • Have your car professional detailed prior to lease-end trades or selling it. You can save yourself hundreds if not thousands of dollars in lease-end reconditioning fees, or receive a significantly greater sales price.
